Many farmers use land rollers for the obvious benefit of pushing rocks down to prevent machinery damage during harvest. Ingesting rocks into a combine head, swather or through a baler causes expensive damage and downtime when time is most critical. Rolling corn stubble after harvest helps to break down the stalks faster and prevent tire damage, just another benefit of rolling fields.
There have been a lot of studies regarding benefits of land rolling, timing and benefits. Cutting edge farmers are utilizing rollers yearly and reaping the benefits.
